Inclusion and Access.
Inclusive software
Hoolet recognises that some of its users may have a disability and have included a number of accessible options into their software in order to make it as inclusive as possible. Hoolet will continue to include and improve accessibility options in all their software products.
Social Inclusion

Hoolet Ltd is a young Scottish company that has an established record of innovative consultancy and development work in the fields of social inclusion and education. We base all our work on a sound understanding of learning theory and on the effective use of relevant skills.
These attributes are embedded in core values that include a belief in both the potential of individuals to improve their situation when given access to appropriate opportunities and the rights of all individuals to such opportunities.
Our consultants and software designers draw on significant depth and breadth of experience in developing effective learning and assessment approaches across a range of local and national settings. In doing so we draw on:
A new openness to learning can be developed through the development of ICT potential and effective interpersonal skills. This openness will play a major part in the successful management of future change for individuals and for institutions.
Accessibility

DAT’s software has a number of accessibility features built in to reflect
users’ needs and to meet the guidelines laid down by the W3C.
For example, users who have a visual impairment can enlarge the text size
by selecting ‘view’, text size’ and ‘large’
or ‘largest’ on the Explorer browser menu bar.
Alternatively, user agents such as Netscape Navigator or Opera browsers will allow text size to be increased by up to 300%. Additionally, all images have the ‘alt tag’ association.
Background colours can also be changed to reflect users’ needs’ This can be done by selecting ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’ and ‘Colours’ from the Explorer browser. Users can then set the text and background colours of their choice.
Users who rely on a text to speech synthesizer or screen reader such as JAWS or HAL are given guidelines on how best to use DAT’s, in particular for navigating and accessing content and tasks.Assist-IT, a company which specialises in assistive technology, is also part
of Hoolet. To find out more about Assist-IT select the link on the left hand
